Good Points

Push a button and you have a good shot of espresso. Good steam production. No big mess to clean up.

Bad Points

Doesn't have any now, since I found where I can get it fixed if needed, fast.

General Comments

I have had the Saeco Vienna Dlx machine now for over 3 years and it has worked great everytime I wanted an espresso. My wife likes to make latte's, but I like the straight shot. We keep it clean and lubed like your supposed to which isn't hard to do. There is very little maintenance to this machine considering how much we use it. We figure we have put over 150 lbs. of beans through it. One day we noticed a puddle of water under the machine, we cleaned it up thinking we spilled water and it kept on ticking, but the puddle was there the next morning and we knew we had a problem. We had bought the machine from Aabree Coffee company so we gave them a call to get Saeco's phone # to get it fixed. They said they could fix the machine and would be happy to look at it and give me a quote as to how much it would be to fix. The charge to look at it was $35.00 and if I wanted to fix it it would be applied to the repair. They called and said the boiler was bad from lime scale build up or it could be the silicone gasket was hard from improper descaling and instructed me on how to properly descale the machine. We had descaled the machine quite a few times but we always did it with the boiler hot and I guess that damages the gasket in the center of the boiler.
The proper way to descale is to turn the machine on and pump water with the descaler ( 1 pack to 32oz. warm water) in it through the steam wand for about 8 oz. of water then turn the machine off and let set for 20 minutes. Repeat 4 times (turn on ,pump water then turn off)or until the water is gone discarding to old descaling solution, then rinse the same way with fresh water, remembering to turn the machine on so the brew group cycles.
I sent them my machine and they replaced the boiler for $120 plus shipping and when I got my machine back (just over a week) it looked like a brand new machine. Everything was cleaned and adjusted. Works great. For the money this is a great machine. Thank You Aabree Coffee.
