Works out of the box.
Bad Points
Stops working around the 1 year mark. You will get "invalid disk" errors no matter what type of disk you use. It will still play regular disks, but will no longer record.
General Comments
This is a pitiful product. During my research for an answer to my 'invalid disk' errors, i came upon dozens of people who were posting about this same issue.
