Good Points
Given the extreme frustration caused by Expedia's incompetence and, quite frankly, untruthfulness, there are no good points.

Bad Points
This company has no integrity whatsoever. They do not comply with their own stated policies and essentially are attempting to steal customers' money.

General Comments
NEVER USE EXPEDIA! I have been entirely shocked not only at their incompetence, but, quite frankly, at what we believe to be outright untruthfulness on their part.



My husband and I booked flights with Expedia and then wanted to cancel. We canceled before the flight departure date and we were told by the Expedia representative that we had 1 year to use the credit. We asked numerous questions about the cancellation policy at the time of cancellation and we were assured that there were no other terms and conditions. We also consulted their website, which echoed what the representative said, at http://www.expedia.com/pub/agent.dll?qscr=hgen&hfnm=h_sc_pchange.htx and states that "If you no longer need a flight, or if you are unsure of your travel plans, then you should cancel your flight. You will receive credit that can be used at a later time (for up to 1 year) towards the purchase of a new flight. To receive credit, you must cancel your flight before the departure date."



As an aside, this representative at the time of cancellation also told us that we would receive an email confirmation, however, this was never received despite several follow-up calls on our part.



When I went to redeem this credit a month after canceling, we were told we had forfeited the credit (of over $1,000) because we had not booked our flights within 9 days of canceling! There was no reasoning with customer service, who routinely placed us on hold for 30 - 45 minutes and would then disconnect us. They simply stated that we had been informed of this change in their stated policy at the time of cancellation. They produced no documentation or recording. It has now been referred to someone senior at Expedia and I've been asked to wait for weeks while they sort it out. No one needs this frustration - I've spent hours trying to get a credit that is rightfully due to me and have been treated extremely poorly in the process. I am waiting to hear back from Expedia and plan on filing a claim for the credit if they insist on their position. NEVER AGAIN!
