Everything they do and say
A few years I moved my principle banking away from Abbey because they were not prepared to offer a bridging loan unless I took out a mortgage with them. The delays they caused in getting the bridging in place lost me the house I was after. I am now shutting down my last Abbey account as I have moved house and Abbey are refusing to recognise my repeated instructions to change my address. They will not do it over the phone and have lost the written form they made me fill out. They would rather send all my financial material to a stranger than provide any sort of service. ONLY BANK WITH ABBEY IF YOU WANT TO LOSE YOUR MONEY AND/OR YOUR HOUSE.
