I work in a firearms store, and when you need a gun that will reliably work every time, is light to carry for extended periods of time, performs great with many manufactured ammo brands, and is high capacity you get a Glock. I've got three of them (G22,G19, and G32C) and by far the most economical to shoot is the G19.
If you have a small hand, the firearm most likely will not be as comfortable to shoot as a range weapon. The Glock, being primarily a double stacked gun, can at some times be harder to conceal with generic holsters, but depends on holster type, body build and clothing appeal.
Having worked in the firearms industry and trade for several years now, and having tried so many different types of weapons, the Glock automatic pistol is by far the best handgun for the money and reliability.
