Performance, ride quality, noise levels, visibility, removable seats, opening sun roof, electronic handbrake / launch control, comprehensive tool kit for changing wheels etc.
Expensive to buy, fuel consumption, positioning of cruise control / speed limiter rocker switch, iPod integration with (expensive) sound sytem is pathetic.
Have owned 2 Espaces (1 old style, 1 v.old style), 2 x Sharans (petrol autos) & 1 x old style Galaxy diesel auto).
Best car to date by a long way - wafts along in regal comfort and, although diesel auto, very responsive and bags of power from the FAP diesel engine (175PS from a 2.0l diesel?!); press the accelerator and hang on. Cat3 emmissions. The penalty is a fuel consumption of (to date) 35mpg over 3,500 miles - compares with 40.5mpg over 124,000 for diesel auto Galaxy.
Lots of toys and the panoramic glass sunroof is vast - when open, it's like driving a convertable (there is a solid blind if it gets too sunny). Excellent driving position, very comfortable seats (back & front). Flat load area with seats out.
Opinion: DO NOT buy the new Galaxy / S-Max = Seats don't come out and no spare wheel (can of foam which renders your tyre irreparable I believe. Also, not good if you're 150 miles from home at 7pm either!)
