The Hotel Intercontinental at the centre of Polaris World is a beautiful hotel with excellent facilities and service. The complex itself is very clean with a security gated entrance (which was manned 24/7). We stayed in a villa which was very clean with very comfortable beds. The kitchen was well fitted out with utensils etc. I would however definitely stay in the hotel next time. We spent a few hours at the hotel pool and the community centre pool and it was lovely. We had a few snacks there during the day but our best meal of the entire holiday was one of the restaurants that overlooks the massive pool (sorry can't remember the name of the restaurant). Murcia is only a short flight away and would be good for a long weekend break.
The size of the pool at the villa was a little small and a bit cold, I was irritated that several light bulbs had blown. Even when the villa manager visited I pointed this out but it was never rectified.
Not much to do in the immediate vicinity. Went to Cartagena which was interesting, didn't like Los Alcazares - too English!
