Amazing value for money, easy to work on the straight 6 compared to the more modern v6 of the omega. all the luxury you could want and an exceptional ride. Kin fast too, tops out at 155 (usually) not common on the modified car scene so something original to be had if you want to put the effort in. I love 'em.
Rear arch rust especially but general rust really with the age of them. Also from personal experience the rear diff main gear can wear and get noisy from the 200bhp pushing 2 ton around for a few years. fuel consumption is awful but that is because I cannot drive it sensibly (I've heard it's not so bad otherwise)
I have owned seven 3.0 Vauxhall Senators over the last 10yrs from 8valve auto's to the rare "m reg" ex police 24v manual I own now. I am a fan. Even a bit fanatical about them. There is nothing like the feeling you get almost silently cruising at 60mph and ten seconds later pushing 140! The roll on acceleration is awesome plus, of course, it's front engine rwd configuration is perfect for going round corners and looking where you're going out of the side windows.
My current car is off the road and being converted into a barely road legal race car! With the copious weight loss from the car and some minor engine mods and most importantly, hardly any money, it's going to be loads of Fun Fun Fun. Raid your piggybank and go out and get one now!
