Good Points

Itinerary, the ports of call were why we selected this Costa cruise. The boarding at Amsterdam was very good. At Savona we requested an early disembarkation as we were making our own way to the train station which was granted without fuss.


Bad Points

Breakfasts and lunches were terrible particularly the heated (greasy) courses. The same thing day in, day out and gluttony was rife. The only english entertainment was on our cabin TV. That was BBC World News and the occasional old movie. Shore excursions were badly organized especially when Costa allowed queue jumping (it even seemed as though it was encouraged). The waiters and stewards were under the unrelenting watchful eyes of their supervisors and managers. It was difficult to communicate with them as they always had to move on. Atlantica had the air of a military ship not a fun cruise ship. Our evening meal waiters were excellent unlike the meals which became boring after the third night. All that varied was the name of the dish. On board refreshments, goods and services were expensive.

The itinerary was great, the cruise was not.
