Disgraceful customer service, car in terrible conditions
Me and my boyfriend booked and paid weeks in advance for a rented car to be picked up at Malpensa Airport, Milan, with Europcar. When we got to the airport we went straight to the Europcar office, there was a small queue of more or less 4 or 5 people in front of so we thought that it would not have taken long, but we were proved wrong as it took ages (from 12 o'clock till 13.45) for the three employees to deal with them. In the mean time none came out to explain why it was taking so long to do what usually other rental companies do in five minutes, none apologized for making us wait and all the customers were getting, understandably, really nervous.
Once we eventually got inside the office and it was our turn we were told, not nicely at all, that all the waiting was due to the fact that the computers were not working properly and they had to write the renting details manually on the forms, it did not sound like a good excuse but by this point we just wanted to get out of the place.
The employee that dealt with us did not want to provide us with the usual form in which the company states all the damages that can be found on the car.
The car was in fact in quite a terrible state and, when I opened it, it was also dirty, I checked the ashtray because there was quite a strong smell of smoke inside and it was still full of half smoked cigarettes. When I saw the same office employee walking around the parking I pointed it all out to him and he said that it was not dirty at all, the only thing he did was to empty the "not dirty" full ashtray and go away being rude to us and not even apologizing.
After all this they also charged my boyfriend's credit card with 3.30euro; for the petrol missing in the tank.
All in all....the service was a disgrace, the car was terrible and we will never ever use Europcar again. If you need to rent a car do not do it with them!!!!! Easyjet should really stop their partnership with this miserable company!
