Love's Not A Competition is Kaiser Chiefs latest attempt at the whole down-tempo, melancholy vibe. However, instead of being a poignant classic; this track seems to fall flat on it's face. Ricky Wilson's vocals are dronier than ever and the track promises a climax, but instead ambles along passively without really going anywhere. I'm not the biggest fan of this band, however it's undeniable that they have a knack of thrashing out catchy (albeit irritatingly so) tune after catchy tune that you just can't seem to shake off once you've heard. This track fails to even demonstrate that one talent they have, leaving very little to be desired. Superbly average and downright boring.
Poor.
