Fantastic to hold, it shoulders beautifully and stays there effortlessly!
From a beginner to an experienced shooter this rifle will cater for all. This little rifle is putting all 10 shots through the same hole at 20 yards.
Perfectly balanced and not too heavy either.
Trigger is a bit fiddly to adjust as you have to compensate for the magazine peg length, wouldn't say it was a major issue it just takes a little longer to set up than normal, i am known for being impatient especially with a new toy.
BSA scorpion T-10 is a beautiful rifle.
I must admit i would never have been urged to go out and buy one or probably even pick one up to look at in a gunshop!
Boy would i have missed out on something truly amazing, I'm going to stop being so judgmental in life now until i have actually tried something for myself, makes me wonder what else i have missed in life listening to others.
Anyway, it got a nicely shaped black composite stock, with extra grip where needed, the "T" stands for tactical if anyone hadn't guessed yet, and the 10 means it is a 10 shot rifle, fed by an updated version of the trusty BSA 10 shot magazine which has been around for ever and a day (but hey if it ain't broke don't fix it, its now manufactured from a one piece alloy block)
It also comes with sling studs fitted front and rear (obviously).
The rifle is in .177 and to load it's simple, just insert pellet into hole and index round to the next position until it stops, it locks after each position so you don't have to keep the tension on like a Theoben magazine, there's also a red dot which is visible for the last two shots, very handy, but it's painted on the side nearest you so you can't see it when your in a firing position. (just a personal dislike).
The magazine is slotted into the left hand side of the bolt housing and when fully inserted theres a locator which is pulled towards you and locks the magazine in, another wee pet hate is the bolt must be fully extended to insert or remove magazines, i could see the point if theres wasn't a magazine locator (exact same position and procedure as the BSA Superten to load)
The rifle itself is very pointable, it shoulders beautifully and really is a nice rifle to hold and fire, the barrel is screw cut 1/2" UNF, and comes with a screw on protector and a fancy muzzle flash eliminator, totally useless but looks fantastic once fitted.
Without a silencer due to the short barrel length it has a very loud muzzle report.
The trigger when first fired was horrible, it wasn't positive at all and it felt quite spongy even seemed to drag itself back into position when cocked, when the trigger was adjusted to decrease the first stage pull (very easy to adjust, allen key located under the fore end of the trigger blade), what you must watch is that when you adjust the trigger you must adjust the indexing peg for the magazine, when the trigger is adjusted it either shortens or increases the length of the peg, which if left will either damage the peg or the magazine, it's a little bit of a fiddle and time consuming but once achieved it's a delight to fire.
The Scorpion didn't like AA field 4.52's but seems to love lazapells (H&N field and trophy apparently, just re-badged), same hole groupings at 20 yards, just going out shortly to try it hunting, so will see how it really performs.
Not much else i can add except to say I'm really impressed and BSA have a winner in my books if anyones looking for a multishot PCP.
The over all appearance of the rifle is quite appealing, but it will not be to everyones liking.
Regards
kenny
