The only good point is that they have internet banking. But then again, who doesn't?
Bad Points
They are all over like flies round you know what when you have money. Then when the chips are down, they tell you you're over your overdraft limit and then charge you £25 a day.
General Comments
I hate HSBC bank! I have been a customer of theirs for 11 years and they have never once helped me out when my finances were getting in a mess. On several occasions, I have asked for an increase in my overdraft, by less than £500 temporarily, and you'd think I was asking for a kidney.
More recently, my father died and I asked for help with his funeral expenses. Again, I got passed from one telephonist to another, racking up a hefty phone bill only to be told there was nothing they could do. I'd explained that once his house was sold I was going to have a serious amount of money available but it was like talking to a brick wall.
Once the money comes through, I will take great delight in closing my account and going elsewhere. I just hope this ongoing court case about claiming back extortionate fees goes in the customer's favour, I'll be demanding at least two grand back.
