Disgusting customer service.
I booked a trip to Paris and asked at point of sale if I could change the name on the ticket, I was told it would be a maximum of £50.00. When I went to change the name on the ticket it had changed to £439.00 and took a week to go down to £139.00 which is still more than they quoted me at the Wilmslow branch. I was treated in a disgusting way by a member of staff who point blank refused to co-operate and do anything at all regarding my trip as it is "not my responsibility". Many phone calls and letters later and I have not even gone yet, the customer service is non-existent, as is their complaints response. I was told if I wished to change anything, it was up to me to call the airline/hotel etc etc, despite the confirmation from staff on booking that if I needed to change anything it would be no problem at all, simply give them a call. Laughable.
I cannot articulate clearly enough how much this experience has made my blood boil and how disgusted I am with the way I was spoken to by a particular member of staff in the Wilmslow branch, who also made up his own definition of DPA so as to not tell me my own information. I would not use Thomsons again even if it was a free trip around the world, they were awful.
I complained in writing and received the response "we hope you continue to book with Thomsons in the future". No thank you, I'll stick to Virgin from now on, perfect every time.
