The finish is fantastic, snare when tuned properly has fantastic crack, toms with new heads really stand up to be counted, and the bass drum is a cannon.
Bad Points
Hi hat stand isn't of the highest quality and the heads are thin and give way to much high end.
General Comments
I purchased the 6 for 7 deal in the aqua lacquer finish. The kit looks real impressive under lights and with an upgrade to Evans g2 heads the toms are firing and the bass drum with the emad head is awesome. I have recorded with the Mapex M series and in the past i have been used to the sound of all maple shells, the birch is awesome and for a kit in this price range i am totally happy with the whole package.
