Good Points

For ease of refrigerator access, this is why I bought the French top Maytag refrigerator.


Bad Points

When using the dispenser you must rely on you pushing the button to get what you want (ice or water). My husband and I find this sometimes fatal when we are moving quickly between filling a glass with a recent selection of water or ice. The dispenser is not suited for filling the larger glasses as the back push device must be pressed close to the back panel. I find I miss my set of two separate dispensers. There is no easy way to access the problem of an electrical/computer malfunction within the controls in the front panel. The pop sound and flickering of lights should have a automatic kill switch to turn off computer control and allow a manual control setting to take over until the occupant returns home (less chance of loss of food) or repairman can be called out to handle the problem. Shorts in the electrical wiring could cause costly damage to the refrigerator.


General Comments

If I would have known this kind of front panel problem is becoming more and more common with a Maytag product I would not have bought the refrigerator. The refrigerator is 12 months and two weeks old, just enough to be out of warrantee. Since Maytag knows this is a growning problem they need to extend coverage to all owners of the Bottom freezer/French door refrigerator.
