General Comments

The Cort SF5 is a 'folk' sized semi-acoustic guitar with cutaway.

Do not mix it up with a Cort SFX5 (or SFX anything). The SF5 has a slightly deeper body, and a solid top and solid back. The SFX models are thinner, and feel more like an electric guitar.

Size-wise its like a smallish acoustic.

The SF5 has a solid cedar top, and solid mahogany back and sides. The neck has some Cort special dovetail joint (woo hoo, whatever), bound neck and body, silver Grover tuners (not black like all the other Cort guitars).

It comes with Fishman Classic 4T electronics, which includes a built in tuner that's very useful. Sliders for volume, bass, mid, treble and 'brilliance' (I set the brilliance to maximum but my playing was just the same).

Mine came from a shop (not a web site) so I can't comment on the out-of-the-box manufacturers set up, but the neck is quite slim and narrow and the action is clean and pretty low.

Unplugged, it sounds surprisingly good for its size with nice tone and plenty of sustain especially if you strum it hard.
Plugged in is a whole other story. Its really very good for the price (about £300).

Looks-wise it is quite plain, although I quite like to see the natural beauty of the plain wood top and mahogany bridge.

The SF5 is exclusive to UK/Eire, hence you will not find it on Cort websites or in any of their brochures. I checked this with the UK/Eire Cort importers.
