Good Points

Hard disk works fine, though menu system is a little cumbersome.


Bad Points

DVD writer is rubbish. As others have testified, it starts off picky about what disks it likes (changes with the day of the week) trashes lots of disks and then stoped working all together.


General Comments

The DVD drive is an IDE unit like the ones in desktop PCs. I've read forums where people have fitted cheap internal drives intended for computers with great success, just two connectors but a problem getting the mechanical mounting sorted. I'm going to try this as, once out of warranty, LITE-ON and their distributors cannot, or will not, supply any spares except for a replacement remote control - Very poor, I'll not be buying any more LITE-ON products. Incidentally, the hard drive is FAT32 windows formatted so you can read it via your PC if you buy an IDE to USB adaptor. Hope this helps.
