Had I read these comments first I would not have purchased it either!! But I transferred from Windows XP to Windows XP through the provided USB cable and it took just a little over an hour. My old pc had a 1.0 USB and the new one has a 2.0 USB and after I set up the provided drivers, everything worked just fine ...it seems like everything transferred, even my favorites in Internet Explorer. Some of the programs didn't transfer, but they were like virus protection and other things you may not have to transfer this way. Maybe if you use the USB cable, it works better. It does seem to be a bit pricey for a one time use, but if it continues to work this well, it would be worth it compared to having a "professional" charge you to transfer your data and programs.
