After nearly 2 hours transfer time (goes quite quickly as you can see so many sights!!) we arrived at the Bellevue (Bellevue being the last hotel to drop off at) we were told we were checking in at Minerva 2 and got dropped around there on the coach...

Check-in was quick and easy and we were given 2 key cards to room 101 in Neptuno 2. As we had travelled with another family we were lucky to be in the same block but we were different end of Neptuno 2 (us on ground floor on one side them on 1st floor other side of building)

THE ROOM - FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Walking into the room the first thing that hit us was the slight odour of damp except from that and the fact that it was slightly outdated and needed a lick of paint the room was perfect... plenty of hanging space...full kitchenette including kettle, toaster, gas hob, large cupboard space, full cutlery and plates and even a fridge with an icebox...balcony (not as good view as we would have liked but we soon got over it)...good size rooms ect.

FOOD (HALF BOARD)

We were half board and although the food could have been warmer there was plenty of choice. At Breakfast drinks were free but at dinner you had to pay for any drinks

Breakfast...
Full English (beans, eggs, bacon, tomatoes ect), toast, fruit, cereal and pastries (ect)

Dinner (evening meal)...
Meat, fish, salad, veg, fruit, cake, ice-cream, (ect)

POOLS

Out of the 7 pools we used the pool in between the 2 Neptuno blocks. We only used the pools for about 3 or 4 days during our 14 day stay. I had a rash, which we now believe to be from the chlorine. It looked like heat rash but stung like I was being stabbed repeatedly all-over. Most of my family including me had soar, bloodshot eyes after being in the pools, sometimes it was so bad our eyes would run all day making it extremely difficult to see and painful.

we didn't see the pool attendant cleaning the pools but rumour is that the pumps for filtering and circulating the water wasn't working so pool attendants were tipping barrels of chlorine into the water. That explains the burning rash on my skin and stinging eyes.

SUNBEDS AROUND POOL

You have to be up really early to reserve sun beds but everywhere the same really

THE BEACH

Beach was brilliant...had to get there early for sun beds though but where don't you?? Sun beds 3.50 euros for all day...beach fruit sellers get on your nerves a bit (shouting 'ello 'ello melon nana coconut for half hour gets annoying after the forth hour) watch out for pickpockets on beach!! Hair braiders are another pain to deal with but as long as you say no thanks they should leave you alone.

WATER

DO NOT DRINK THE TAP WATER!!!
For drinking water and to clean you teeth you have to buy bottles of mineral water (by the litre)
We bought an 8l bottle nearly every day and by the end of the day it was almost empty

SHOPS

As I mentioned in the water section we bought a 8l bottle of water every day... prices are as follows...

Spar on complex ... depends what price they feel like charging you... first week it was 2 euro 50 (reasonable) half way through second week it wad 5 euro 50 (really expensive!!) and at the end of our stay it had been raised to SIX EURO!!! (Ridiculously expensive!!)

Supermarket on main road (Colbert) started off for the first week at 1 euro 99 and by the end of the first week it was 1 euro 95.

just proves if you shop around a bit you will find cheaper prices for the same things.

WEATHER

Mainly hot but boy did we have some tropical rain on our second week...

Wednesday the 23rd was one of the worst days for the rain. we had booked a boat trip for that day and we got drounded running from Neptuno 2 to the restaurant in Leda 3 for breakfast then to the main reception just to be told our boat trip had been canceled!! Rain cleared after about 1.30pm and sun came out.

Friday the 24th - it hammered it down!!! didn't stop all day. There was a break in it for around an hour at 7pm but at 8pm we were in the show gardens and the rain started again (thankfully not as heavy!)

SHOW GARDENS

Good entertainment started at around 8 with a mini disco for the little kids then bingo for the adults followed by a show at 10pm.
The shows we watched were:
*Westlife tribute
*Queen tribute
*ABBA tribute
*High school musical performed by the staff
*Grease Performed by staff

After the staff performances the staff would do the dances on stage that you can join in with such as
*La Bomba (By king Africa)
*YMCA
*Saturday Night
*A Spanish version of Follow the leader

La Bomba is a really catchy song and the dance moves are really simple to do.

Entertainment team and other staff involved in the shows are really friendly many of them are in the Vibes Tribe

VIBES TRIBE

Vibes Tribe organise the entertainment in the show garden, organise and run the Bellevue channel (channel one on the TV in your room - Free) and run the mini, maxi teen and 16+ clubs.

They are very friendly and always talk to you. On our last day we had to be out of the room by 12pm an we wasn't being picked up for 3 hours so I decided to go to the Leda pool-side to watch the kids club. I did a lot more than watch thou... I must have lucked a bit loopy a 14 year old dancing with the mini club which is meant for toddlers and little children up to the age of 8 (I think) but it was enjoyable. After the dancing I sat talking to Joey - part of the vibes tribe who was leaving the Bellevue to go back to Holland (his home country) to have an operation. He was really nice and one of the things I miss the most about the holiday.

EXCURTIONS

Pirates - Brilliant show - dinner, pop, wine and sangria all included in price.

Aqualand - lots of queuing but the rides are worth it

Scuba Diving - brilliant value for money

Most of the excursions can be booked in the Bellevue or on the main road with an agent called 'no frills excursions'

BIRTHDAYS

As it was our friends who we traveled with's birthday we ordered him a birthday cake and had a mini party in our room. Sangria is 1.55 euros for 1.5l at Colbert supermarket on the main road, which is quick cheap although i have seen it for 0.95 euros past the bridge. Pop, crisps, and snacky foods can all be bought really cheap at Colbert too.

Also you can have a birthday message put on the Bellevue Channel. You have to leave a message in the main reception for this the day before and they will put it on the TV for you.

DISABLED ACCESS

As my Nan was on an electric scooter for most of the holiday the shops she visited had to have ramps so she could drive down. Luckily, many of the shops had ramps and was quite wide. As we had an apartment on the ground floor we didn't need to use the lifts but I doubt we would have been able to fit the electric scooter into the lifts as they were only about a metre square.

BATH TOWELS

If you need more towels for your apartment just nip to the nearest mini reception and ask for them, we had no problems once we asked for the towels

MAIDS

Maids cleaned the room every 2 days. Cleaning included a quick dust, mopping floors, making beds and changing bed sheets.

BIKES FOR HIRE

BE EXTREAMLY CARFULL ON THE MINI MOTORBIKES!!! my best mate came off his bike and sprained his ankle. He was so lucky he never broke a bone.

MOZZIES!!

As long as you spray yourself with a mosquito repellent you should be fine. I only use mozzie repellent Twice and only got two bites. Our friends all got around 10 bites each despite using mozzie repellent - I suppose we're not as tasty as everyone else!!

Would deffinatly come back to the Bellevue as I found it brilliant. Alcudia was brilliant too!!
