Having banked with Barclays at Enfield for nearly 20 years I needed money transferring to my Solicitor in a hurry as I was getting on a plane at Heathrow. I rang my branch to be informed that the normal office contact was not at her desk so I gave her assistant the full details of who to transfer money to and from what account and told her it was most important as my solicitor had to pay the money into Court. She confirmed that she was going to carry out my request and would email me with confirmation. No money was transferred although cleared funds were available as I needed to attend a branch to sign and it turned out my call had been diverted to a call centre and this girl was supposed to be responsible for my business banking. The net result although cleared funds were available I was turned Bankrupt. Thank you Barclays.
