Good Points

I contacted the Vax company after a year of problems and they sent me a bag to sent it back through their courier and refurbished it and returned all within a week and free of charge, unfortunately several month later I was back to square 1 with the problems.


Bad Points

Went through about 7 - 10 hoover belts in the first year. Slightest thread or hair and it would snap. I had to order a new filter as my Mother threw mine out when emptying the cylinder. It always ended up in the bin full of dust and grime and you had to fish though to retrieve it. She didn't realise this. Eventually the motor went on fire! I sent it back to Vax and they gave it a new motor, belt, brushes and filter and it worked like a dream, at first! It has since fell apart altogether. The upright catch broke leaving it unable to stay upright, then the small wheels snapped and broke off. I gave up and threw it in the bin!


General Comments

It is an awkward machine to manoeuvre. Falls over very easily when using the hose. Using the hose is a bit of a palaver too having to detach from one to the other. Very brittle plastic, the back handle broke off then the wheels snapped off. It has definately put me off buying another VAX. (Although the after sales service I received was second to none, my guarantee was up and they still sorted it within the week, free of charge!)
