Good Points

Our experience was flight only to Zakynthos, and, if it we had not had to endure Zakynthos Airport for the return flight, would have been ok. The booking process was straight forward and efficient and problem free. The only niggle was the old story of foot room in the aircraft. I do think the paying customers should be treated to a bit more comfort. With the seat in front reclining I was jammed in my seat unable to move. I know you can pay more for more room but I think there should be reasonable conditions for all.

General Comments

By far the worst part of the whole holiday was the airport for the return journey. We did the same journey in July and on that occasion were made to queue for about one and a half hours at midday in the blazing sun as were, I would estimate, about one thousand other people including the elderly, the pregnant and those with young children.
On this occasion, we arrived 2 hrs before takeoff to be told that most passengers had been bussed in three hours in advance and had already checked in. No queues this time but when we got into the departures lounge we found the all available seats had been taken as had most of the available floor space. Many of the passengers were elderly, some evidently to some extent disabled. All had to stand or sit on the floor for two hours at least. I think this is an absolutely disgraceful way to treat one's customers and the companies should be ashamed to put people through such an ordeal. It appeared that four flights were scheduled to leave within a period of 10, yes, ten, minutes which seems absolutely crazy given the inadequate capacity of the departures building and the fact that the airport is underused for large periods of any day. Of course, one does not see reps in the departure lounge so maybe the companies are unaware of situation and I should say that the above applies to all the tour companies using Zakynthos, not only First Choice with whom we travelled on this occasion.
Please schedule flights to Zakynthos with the above in mind and use the considerable influence which First Choice and the other companies must have with the Greeks to do what is necessary to make sure that this outrageous situation does not recurr next summer or ever. Zakynthos is a beautiful island and the people individually very welcoming but why would any one go back if they have to go through this ordeal?
