General Comments

July 2003 Well just returned from 2 weeks at Hotel Atlantic in Es Cana. We got a fantastic late deal with Firstchoice but would be staying in Port des Torrent or Es Cana. A friend had recently stayed in the Port des Torrent hotel and wasn't impressed so I was relieved when we found out we'd be in Es Cana - even though my boyfriend and I wanted a lively holiday. First impression of the hotel was that it was nothing like the brochure picture but what is?? The rooms were basic - very pink - but clean. There was a fan in room but didn't really have much effect - you could hire better ones from reception. Also some bars seemed to have them to hire. Hotel staff very friendly. We went just as the schools were breaking up for summer and the place got busier day by day. Would be great for a family holiday - lots of kids entertainment, several kids clubs for different ages then hotel entertainers Gaz and Sarah as well - when do they sleep?? Everyone seemed to be English there. Facilities fab - pool lovely, jaccuzzi, kids pool, gym and sauna - not that you needed it. I was amazed by the All Inclusive deal. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and all drinks until 11 pm. Unbelievable. You had to wear a wrist band which was annoying and carry a card - if you went to the bar you had to have a card for each drink you got. Some drinks - certain cocktails, branded spirits - had a euro surcharge, but everything else, hot/soft drinks, beer, wine, local spirits, free! Couldn't fault the food (but must admit we did eat out sometimes its nice to choose what you want rather than choose from what is offered!) breakfast usual fry up, various bread/pastries, fruit, cereals. Lunch/Dinner soup, salad, usually veggie tomato pasta, veg and meat and/or lots of lovely fish, with fruit, cakes and ice cream for desert. Snack bar chips, burgers, toasties, even ice lollies. Got no idea how this place makes any money. Es Cana nice but quite small, beach lovely but nicer if you walk along rocks to the left of the beach - much quieter. St Eularia next town, much bigger than Es Cana def worth a visit. Fantastic Indian restaurant the Cardamon Club an English couple just opened it this year, very good. If you want to explore get a car. We felt a bit out of the way - when we went out a nights we had to taxi - the famous Ibiza Disco bus doesn't hit Es Cana! Taxis to San Antonio, Ibiza Town cost around 30 euros each way. Hippy Market in Es Cana but try Las Dalias on a Saturday its much better. Costs about 8 euros in a taxi but we had trouble getting one back - just had to flag one down on street and lots of people doing the same. Las Dalias is a bar and has a market on Saturday. Shop till you drop then lie on the floor in a tent with mint tea or prop the bar up. Certainly different! On the whole a fab holiday, but I can imagine during the school holidays the hotel would be a different place - no chance of a sunbed etc but we hit it just right! This is def a family hotel - great if you have kids they'll love it and be out of your hair, lots of teenagers about too, but chose a different resort if you're looking for a wild Ibiza holiday. PS You should try the shooting/football stall just outside the hotel near the fair, we got hooked - also try hook a duck cos the bloke couldn't understand why the English didn't like it!! Enjoy!!
