Extremely large touch screen, easy to navigate menus, windows style operating system, pretty much everything about it really!
Size, although any smaller and the touch screen would be difficult to write on. Ring volume is not quite loud enough. But as the P800 can do so much these things are extremely minor.
This phone is amazing. I was very unsure about buying one, so I read loads of reviews and made up my own mind. One main problem i had with the P800 was the larger than normal size and of course the price! But after visiting a local phone retailer, I was able to insert my existing sim card and try out the phone in the shop. I was pleasantly suprised by the size, not nearly as big as everyone makes out, although for socialites, I would recommend keeping a smaller (less expensive) phone solely for going out at night. Although, the excellent camera would make deciding to leave it at home a difficult decidsion to make!
The versaltility of this phone has to be it's best feature, the online shop for the P800 (located on Sony Ericsson Page) is great, yes you have to actually pay for some of the software and games but they mostly only cost £3-4 and are really good. As these downloads are solely for the P800 you have no problems with compatibility as you normally have with mobile gaming. The docking station you receive in the box is stylish and doesn't look out of place on your desk. The PC software provided allows you to back up and store all the settings on your phone in case the worst should happen. Most games are downloaded onto your PC and then you install it via the docking station onto the handset. The game or software icon remains on your PC so you can reinstall it as many times as you like allowing you to fully customise your handset. Yuo can send pictures, midi files etc from the PC directly to your phone and it doesn't take forever like you might expenct. To install a game yesterday, it took about 5 mins to download onto Pc which can be done while you are surfing and about 2 mins at the most to put it on the phone.
Initially I thought that actually writing on the touchscreen would be a novelty that would soon wear off but the more I use it the easier and quicker it is. Just read the operating manual before you try or you can get quite disheartened trying to write something. Once you get used to inputting letters numbers and symbols as they want you to it is fantastically quick and easy. (Tip- to delete a character draw a horizontal line to the left like back space) This advice would have saved me many frustrated minutes thinking that i'd bought a piece of crud.
I would highly recommend the P800 for anyone who has a PC and enjoys downloading and customising. If you don't forsee yourself using most of the features as the excel and word viewers then don't waster your money as there are other phones out there which don't cost as much and could probably suit you just as well.
If you can see your self giving the phone a chance and downloading the extras then the P800 is amazing. Oh yeah and the free solitaire game which is preloaded is so addictive it takes classic gaming to a whole mew level!
I hope this has been useful to any prospective buyer and in the end do what you want and make up your own mind.
