General Comments

I recently bought this upright vacuum cleaner after owning another Panasonic, the MCE470, for around three years. If you look at the reviews for that item you'll understand why I went out and bought this. I don't think I'll ever buy a 'bagless' vacuum cleaner again after going through the hell of having to empty it and clean the filters every time I used it.

Anyway, back to the vacuum in hand. This model recently superceded the 1700-watt version - and as far as I can tell the motor is the only difference. It cost me £69.99 from Argos and is doing a brilliant job. Where the bagless cleaner's brushes used to 'stall' on certain parts of the carpet this one just keeps on going, no doubt because it's more powerful.

What else can I say about it? Well, like my previous Panasonic, this one also chucks out a lot of hot air when in use. It's not really a bad thing but can blow paperwork all over the place - so be warned if you're cleaning the office! The brush bar adjusts automatically to different floor heights and there are the usual attachments to go with the hose. You can't turn off the beater bar when using the hose, which could be a pain if you're cleaning out the car. There's also a 'bag full' indicator, which saves having to examine the insides every once in a while.
