Good Points

nice wood.....easy to cock, for an adult that is

Bad Points

I'm having a bit of a problem getting a good group at about 25 yards........but Im sure some of the problem is "old eyes"..........lol

General Comments

I too did extensive reading before I purchased my model 94......... got the advertised combo with the 4x scope and rings....not real happy with my shot grouping yet......Ive ordered several different shapes and weights of pellets but have been using good old Daisy Max Speed to sight the rifle in......simply because had bunches of them at home.....and of course nobody can rule out good old human error, since I don't have the best rest to shoot from......Ive also ordered a one-piece scope ring base and will experiment with that.....other than that, Im extremely satisfied with my purchase....gereat value for the $$$$$ as far as Im concerned.....I dont expect to go to the olympic trials with this rifle, but Id like to know that I could eventually hit a bird, target, or varmit consistently.........maybe with a few more trials I'll get there....otherwise, a great rifle.....Im happy

I was having the same problem at 25 to 30 yds. I tried many different pellets and found one that works quite well and it is the beemam ram jet. I can get groups around 1 inch at 25 yds. if I am shooting pretty decent . I know the rifle can do better but I can't with a rather inexpensive straight 4 power scope and my old eyes are not what they used to be either. Just try alot of differnet pellets utill you find one your rifle really likes.

thanks hec........I have since purchased an RWS one-piece scope mount for my model 94.......of course, the scope that came with the rifle wouldnt fit, so here we go again......bought a Simmons 3x9 (relatively inexpensive) and started over.......seems to be working for me.......as I mentioned earlier I never planned to shoot flies off the wall like Jed Clampitt...Im shooting for fun and not competition........just want to basically know where my pellet will hit consistently....I've changed to the Beeman pellets also.......thanks again for your comment, and
    happy shooting...AH

I have the rws adjustable mount also and it works really great. My 94 has some barrel droop so the adjustable mount saved the day for me. I have the the tech force 4 power scope and it has held up well also as I am well pleased with it. You won't set any records with it but it works well for pest control and what I use it for.It takes some getting use to these springers but I have really enjoyed the challenge.

    Sounds like an outstanding product!
I have read all 20 of these reviews, twice,
in the past few days, also, the .22 caliber,
also, the Cometa Fenix 400 reviews, which is
the same rifle by the way, I read also on the
internet that this RWS 94 in the United States
is an 18ft lb rifle, outstanding value in deed!
My question is, why hasn't anyone put any chony
    figures up yet.
I am interested in the rifle, both calibers, and
would like an honest person to let me know how fast it shoots Crosman Premiers, the 7.9 grain CPL, and the 10.5 grain CPH, and this is .177.
Also, I would like someone to do this with the .22 caliber, I would really appreciate your
help, and I am sure that others will also when they read this report.
This rifle is a bit under-stated in it's advertised velocity, from what I have read, while
    90% of the others have over-stated , over-inflated velocities.
This just may be the one that I am looking for.
    Thanks a lot
    Tim

Like I may have mentioned, I've pretty well ironed out my problems by getting the one- piece scope mount and a more powerful scope....I'm 50+ so I need all the help I can get...I'm satisfied with my shot group at around 25 yards using the Beeman round nose pellets......I did try several different brands, shapes, and sizes and settled on these......The rifle is a great value for the money.....I chose the .177 because I already had a big supply of pellets....otherwise I'd probably have purchased the .22.......Anyway, I'm 100% satisfied, and thanks for the comment

I am very well pleased also but if I had it to do over I would get the 22 cal. instead. I have considered buying a chrony but I only have two rifles at this time so it is hard to justify buying one, once you have the figures you have them.I also would like someone to post some figures.I will probably buy this same rifle in the 22 cal. later on.If anyone has information on how to oil the spring and piston chamber it would be a great help if you would post info on that as I didn't get a manual on how to do this.I have fired mine well over 1000 times.

As several people have mentioned in their reviews the manual that comes with the RWS is about as weak as it can possibly be......guess we'll all have to wait on others who have experienced velocities, maintenance, etc. to post some info....the owners of these rifles. like Jr for instance, have been really big help to people like us....I'd have never purchased this particular rifle had it not been for all the favorable reports.....and I'm glad I stumbled over this review sight......life is good....I'm 100% satisfied

After reading many reviews on this site, I bought a used but well maintained RWS94 in .177 cal. I really liked the rifle, its handling and looks. So I bought a Simmons 44 Mag 6.5-20X44 AO scope and mounted it with adjustable mounts from B-Square. Since this rifle does not have a scope rail but grooves machined into the receiver barrel, I had to get a high riser kit so that the scope would not interfere with the receiver in front. That scope, by the way is not expensive but has a life time warranty.
Mostly I shoot in my basement at 10 yards, but occasionally take it to our club air gun range. That's when the problem manifested itself. I lost power from one shoot to the other. Velocity went as low as 780 ft/sec. When I took the rifle apart, the spring had taken a set and has assumed a snake-like double bend. I called the distributer who sent me a new stock spring that turned out to be 2 (!) inches longer than mine. This brought the velocity to over 900 ft.sec. But after only a few hundred pellets I lost power again, down to 675 ft/sec and a snake like spring. Another call to the technician at Airgun Express. He suggested I send the rifle in. When it came back, the rifle shot quite hard and fast. So I called and asked him what he did. Well, he played around a bit and installed a spring from a RWS 320 after shortening it by about 1/4" (I believe). I took the gun apart again to look at his handywork. The spring was straight and harder than the stock one. Where he had cut it, however, he had not flattened the end. So now the sharp edge of the spring could really dig into the flat end of the spring support. Being handy with tools, I flattened the spring and ground the end smooth, reinstalled it after lubing and tarring the spring. Using my Chrony, I am shooting now at about 980-990 ft/sec, using Crossman Premiers Light (7.9 grain). I have since then at least 400 pellets through the gun, and it shoots still at the same velocity. I was told by the technician at Airgun Express, that the quality of the RWS94 spring has shown to be inconsistent(?). The one he modified (no charge) was the only one he found in his inventory that would fit (LUCKY ME!). The cocking effort is definitively higher than before and I adjusted the trigger to be very light. But I am happy now.- If I could only hold the crosshairs on the target steady enough!!!! Well, old age (72) slowly creeping up.
