Good Points

Powerful features, easy to set up and automate, clear, fast communication with IT, expertise in custom development


Bad Points

I had to use Netscape for the admin panel - on my computer, for some unknown reason, other browsers were really slow. Others did not have this problem.


General Comments

We are a website development company serving the private and public sectors. Recently one of our clients presented us with an ecommerce project with some very specific and unusual requirements.

After doing considerable research on ecommerce providers within our client's price range, we decided that Americommerce would be the best fit for the project. We needed a solid and versatile cart that would also be able to produce a very specific orders feed to our distribution warehouse. Americommerce communicated directly with the clearing house that our client worked with, and developed a customized feed to pass the orders to the clearing house in the required format.

At the time of our project, Americommerce had a cross-selling system (where you can suggest related items on a product details page), but we required an upsell system (where the cart can suggest another related product or accessory after an item is added to the cart). Americommerce saw that as a valuable feature, and covered half the cost of its development. We worked closely with Americommerce in defining the specs and use case scenarios. They were highly responsive every step of the way. Our contact person was professional, highly knowledgeable, and managed a very effective team.

We found the cart to be easy to configure, and the product management intuitive. We were impressed with the quality and expertise in carrying out custom development, and were very happy with their clear and prompt communication. They offer a great product at an affordable price.

Overall, it was a real pleasure working with the team at Americommerce.
