Good Points
A good mixture of horses - riding different horses is beneficial to your overall development as a rider. The horses range free much of the time (good for social animals) and are well cared for. Private tuition is excellent - intense, interesting lessons always set new challenges and hacks out are surprisingly varied given the limited ground available.

Bad Points
The general classes can be large which can make it difficult for beginners to learn. Facilities are limited when the ground is wet although the staff make clever use of the covered track.

General Comments
The staff have a very forward approach to riding - if you want to learn then they will bring you on. They will stretch you and instill confidence but never push you beyond your capabilities

Twelve months ago I'd never sat on a horse. An hour a week at St Leonards has seen me galloping on beaches in the Lake District and cantering across moorland in Ireland - very satisfying for me and a testament to the staff and horses.
