Good Points

Initially a reasonable quote and therefore took up insurance with them through caravan club broker service. Brokers helpful and easy to contact.


Bad Points

Altogether the worst experience I've ever had with any company (this is my first claim for 30 years!)


General Comments

I feel AXA only wants a profit, but cannot provide a satisfactory service, and seems disinterested in doing so. I had an appalling experience with them. Very hard to contact - took 2 hours to get through on my second day of trying to notify claim (shunt accident, my fault). Hard to understand call handler - could not answer all my questions and eventually hung up on me! Complaint to my broker got me through to someone in Ipswich who helped progress my claim. Then a battle with them to allow my car to be repaired at my dealers' recommended body shop - AXA wanted me to travel miles (call handler insistent nothing closer). Company who repaired my car very negative and did not like dealing with them as hard to contact and slow with payment. Now that repaired was required to pay a higher excess than on my insurance certificate AXA said that the figure on my certificate did not match the figure on their computer and was therefore not applicable. I'm now battling with my broker to get this sorted and hopefully get this sorted!
