Good Points

The magazine is geared toward preteens. This is a much needed information venue.


Bad Points

Lack of diversity. Believe it or not most children of ALL races are interested in learning about and hearing from children from other cultures outside of their own. Especially in your targeted age group.


General Comments

There isn't enough diversity in the magazine. I read my daughters issue yesterday. Most comments, issues ideas are either quoted by or focus on Caucasian girls, most pictures and articles as well. This month's article focusing on "Great Hair" There were no hair styles for African American girls. I subscribed to the magazine for my daughter because I thought it would have subject matter and activities that would be of interest to her and her DIVERSE group of friends. I'm disappointed to see that 90% of the contents of the magazine focuses on one select group with a few tokens of diversity scattered here and there. My initial plans were to allow her to give her friends a subscription for XMAS. However I will not be renewing her subscription and certainly won't promote it by giving gift subscriptions to her friends unless I see more efforts of the magazine to be more inclusive .
