Good Points
- I couldn't find a better value for money solution than Americommerce - particularly as we run mutliple webstores.
- We have over 1000 products which we maintain across 2 webstores. Both webstores share the same product database and admin, so we get huge productivity gains.
- They make almost daily 'site updates' which adds new functionality to our webstores. (They don't wait a year or two to release a 'new' version.)
- Support has been great - we are based in Australia, they are in the USA so prompt communication is very important. They have a great online system where customers can set the level of urgency for a support task - if it's critical it gets done immediately etc.
Bad Points
Getting 'Custom Developments' made to your website can take longer than you would like - it depends on how busy their development team are making updates to the rest of the system. The good thing is that these guys WILL actually make custom developments for you - most cart providers won't even consider making custom devs to their carts for specific customers.
General Comments
I think Americommerce is definitely worthy of being included in any short-list of cart providers.

<br/>It is a constant adjustment of priorities when you accept/reject custom development requests from hundreds of customers (unless you have thousands of developers!). However, we welcome custom development requests (as one of the ONLY companies who will even entertain the idea) and love to release wanted feature sets as soon as possible given the many development projects underway on a daily basis. We always try and take only those development tasks that will benefit everyone and bring the greatest value to our services so we can retain focus and perspective.
