General Comments

This is NOT a traditional golf course, nor is it a traditional form of golf. Derek Robins is the owner operator (and also 16 national disc golf champion) of the first Frisbee Golf course in the midlands. Its an 18 hole course, set in some great wooded and riverside surroundings, designed specifically for the of frisbee or more commonly, disc golf. The idea and rules are much the same as regular golf including the ever amusing, "play it where it lies" rule!!

Taking frisbee (provided) in hand, the player must throw the disc toward the hole as expected. Wherever it lands the player must throw from until they are within sight / distance of the hole. The hole is a basket stood on top of a pole about a foot off the floor. strung from the pole are a set of chains which are used to cushion the approaching disc and allow it to drop into the basket below. Scoring the number of throws taken as shots, just like in normal golf!

18 holes costs about £5 and lasts for a good couple of hours playing as a group of 4 or more. There is a charge if you lose one of the discs provided which at time of writing is £7.

The only factor that can dampen (no pun intended) spirits is the weather. Some of the holes can suffer from water logging and being an outdoors activity the elements can really affect enjoyment. Not just rain, blustery days can lead to frustration taking control of frisbees but this can be overcome.
