The band managed to put out a successful Cd with a more mature less "poppy" feel without completely abandoning their roots found on Your Favorite Weapon. Unique guitar licks blend with funky basslines and the chorus' will stick with you all week. the lyrics are deep and inspiring also. This is great music.

The album has a slow feel to it and although it is relaxing it might lose some people since it is less energetic than their first full length. Those expecting the original energetic power pop might feel let down.

All in all the Brand New Deja Entendu CD is quality. Brand New goes above and beyond the stereo-typical pop-punk/emo band label. They no longer can be fitted with a genre. The new material is mysterious and melodic with lyrics that may soar over many ignorant listener's heads.The slow pace of the record should not inhibit anyone from giving it a chance
