Good Points

beautiful resort, lots of retaurants, great beach and pools, no need to leave resort, golf course OK, golf was close not too busy, management at the top responsive


Bad Points

some units lack sufficient hot water, trying to explain to someone who doesn't have hot water that luke warm to not cold isn't good enough is tough, the Caribe side much better two units we had at the Tropical had hot water problems, once again Sunquest totally useless in helping to resolve problem, the local agent's reply (Sunquest) was "what do you expect for a third world county", My answer is not much but I do expect hot water from a five star hotel. English speaking employees are fewer, French and German better off. This is changing as more travellers to this destination are speaking English


General Comments

We would go to Melia Tropical and Caribe again. My 11 year old son went none stop all day with activities and thoroughly enjoyed himeself. Golf is not free as they charge enough for the carts to nulify any benifits there but it wasn't busy. Some units are far away from the pools but closer to restaurants so you need to be sure where you want to be close to. We wanted pool and ocean with kids as there were plenty of trips back and forth.
