Great vehicle for light practical work, shifting boxes etc. combined with the ability to chuck the kids in at the weekend.
Bad Points
Nissan support is poor!
General Comments
After running the car for 3 years problem free (except for the usual 30,000 mile clutch replacement). My engine has blown a con rod straight through the block! A freak event? After some research it appears not. This is fast becoming a very familiar story with these engines. Watch soon for a BBC Watchdog report.

I drive a 2003 Navara and as a result of Nissan's failure to notify me of a recall on the timing chain tensioner the timing chain broke and wrecked the engine ,Under warranty Nissan repaired my vehicle ( a total cost of some £4500 parts and labour according to my local dealer) these repairs took a total of 35 days approx. and the Navara succeeded in doing 26 miles and the engine blew up .Nissan then put in a brand new engine and although properly serviced this engine has again blown up after some 49000 miles and now out of warranty. Has this watchdog programme been on yet? Has anyone had any success in getting any help from Nissan outside warranty?
