General Comments

When I first got my 1992 gts Toyota MR2, I was so paranoid due to all the stories of spontaneous swapping of nose for tail that it took months for me to approach a corner faster than 30kph! Ive now owned it for 2 years and after some (sometimes enthusiastic) experimentation, I am confident that this reputation is mostly urban legend. Although they will get loose in the wet, (or dry for that matter) when fangs out, if you are looking in the rear vision mirror to see what you are about to hit then your also looking in the right place to see the casue of the problem!

I have no hesitation in recomending the MR2 to anyone who wants big performance on little budget. with some simple mods to induction and exhaust, increased boost pressure and upgraded comp, these cars will perform better than most peoples ability to drive them. any further cash should be spent on bodykit.

Some other points to consider: the interior is actually quite spacious for two people, the seats are comfy, internal layout attractive and theres a lot more storage space than one at first assumes. Also very reliable, not one breakdown in two years.

only draw backs: number one, all parts and services on the MR2 are EXPENSIVE!! like all sports cars you ll probably find it a bumpy ride and they are strictly two person cars which can cramp some social events. i would say the most useless aspect of the mr2 is toyota service centres, for whatever reason, dont know jack about them.
