Bad Points

Having to make an appointment if you want to try on a selection of dresses. Although this is usual practice throughout the Wedding Shop industry.


General Comments

It's amazing the amount of Wedding Dress shops we have in our hometown. I hadn't really thought about it until my daughter announced she was getting married. I was honoured to be asked to help in her quest for the perfect dress. We found 5 shops in our main High Street, and in one of them would be THE dress. We started off by visiting one shop only to be told that appointments were now the norm. Gone are the days when you just walked in and started trying on dresses. After this we called into all the other shops and made appointments for the following week.
Bows and Bells was the last shop on our list, not because we didn't rate it... only because it is at the very end of the High Street.
Immediately the bride-to-be and entourage are made to feel very welcome. Considering the amount of customers they must see in a day/week, the two assistants were enthusiastic and positively excited at the forthcoming wedding. One assistant asked my daughter if she had any style, colour, fabric in mind.....and then took her lead from that. We were shown half a dozen dresses, and each time, listened to what my daughters reaction to them were...muntil finally showing her the dress of her dreams. In all I think she tried on half a dozen, until she emerged with the one dress that was perfect.
The two assistants were patient, attentive, good humoured, and very focused on making my daughters dream dress a reality.
The dress is now on order and I can foresee no problems. My daughter has been told that she may go into the shop at any time to either show the dress to other family members, or pay a little something towards the dress, therefore spreading the payments.
Bows and Bells rated a mention on the Review Centre, not only because of their professional manner and great customer service, but also because they can show the other wedding shops in my High Street how to conduct business. All but one were appalling to differing degrees. The other shop got the business for bridesmaids and flower girl dresses.
