General Comments

On the face of it the N73 was the right the phone to choose when I was in the market. It wasn't the uber expense of something like the N95 and it wasn't an entry level or dated piece of technology.
I feel like I am always going to be a Nokia user because you go with what you know in many respects when choosing replacement technology for your current piece!
The phone, its good, quality Nokia build as with almost all their products I have owned. The major draw back with this phone's design is the joystick. It's going to wear out over time with use but more over it gets bashed in your pocket and has, although it is yet to happen to me, dislocates like a shoulder popping out which makes it hard to use.
Sound quality is very good and the screen is exceptional.
I fancy that my reception mark reflects the service recently from my provider rather than this equipment.
The only real gripe I have is that the N73 (as well as the N series phones according to a shop assistant I spoke with) will over time become slow. The navigation between screens is poor after time. I have cleared out memory as much as I can to try and ease this but it is a firmware issue. Apparently you can get fixes for this. Indeed you can. It lasted 2 weeks before I tried the same tact but it hasn't worked a second time.
I'll complete my contract on this phone but I will wait a little longer and maybe get something a little less 'new' at the time of upgrading.

The Nokia N73 can be considered to be a substantially upgraded version of the Nokia N70, and it can be considered as a direct competitor to the Sony Ericsson K790i and K800i handsets.
