ummm ..... easy to find ?
Expensive, poor food, noisy, rude staff
We had originally booked 2 nights at the Smugglers Inn. However, 3 hours after checking in my wife was on the telephone trying to find alternative accomadation.
The "owner" of the smugglers Inn takes poor customer serice to an absolute low. We experienced her sharp and rude tongue first hand, and as witnesses to other customers at the receiving end.
The restaurant was poorly managed with little waiting staff. Waiting 35 minutes between first and main courses is totally unacceptable - especially so when half the tables were empty.
When our main courses eventually turned up, they were wrong. Also, my wifes steak was off !!! It stank and tasted vile (the steak, not the wife).
On a darker note.
We witnessed and have evidence that the owner uses her children to help out not only behind reception, but also around and behind the bar !! The children looked to be 10 and 13 - to young under UK law to work, period. To have a 13 (ish) year old working behind a bar is illegal, disgraceful and immoral. A letter of complaint is also going to the Irish Tourist Board and the Police.
Avoid this disgraceful hotel !!!!!
