Good Points

If you don't expect to spend lots of time in the hotel and just look at it as a pleasant place to sleep and explore the island and it's people you will not be disappointed.

Bad Points

Watery, scrambled egg, strange tasting sausages.
No tea making facilities (we bought a gallon of mineral water and topped our bottles up).
Lack of atmosphere in the bar - go out and enjoy yourself!
Indoor pool closed on odd occasions when it shouldn't have been and only computer in the hotel difficult to access during the day.

General Comments

Having read all the reviews on here, myself and my daughter were so worried what we were letting ourselves in for. We bought a Lonely Planet Guide to Malta & Gozo and went fearing the worst. However, this holiday turned out to be a really pleasant and relaxing experience. We were in room 1004 which is actually fairly quiet in the evenings. If you want an all inclusive, then I suggest you don't go here as admittedly, the hotel reception is a bit dead and I would not have wanted to sit in the hotel bar most nights. The two pools were fabulous and the indoor pool in the basement has a fabulous jacuzzi where myself and my daughter unwound when we got back in the evening. Going B&B, I reckon we got good value for money. The breakfast, although not fantastic is varied and the staff were very pleasant and helpful at breakfast. Our room was small but airy and although the air conditioning was noisy, it did do the trick. The room was cleaned and tidied to a high standard everyday and we were given clean towels even though we didn't need them every day. We had a lovely veranda and although our hotel faced another hotel room, this was not a problem at all. The location is great, approximately 300 metres from the sea front where you can buy a 3 or 7 day pass on the buses and go anywhere on the island (we loved St. Julians with it's very pretty harbour all lit up at night) and there are lots of shops and restaurants in Bugibba. Go on one of the organised boat trips to The Blue Lagoon and spend a few hours swimming in a beautiful aquamarine bay. We also went on a glass bottomed boat and saw a shipwreck. Visit Mdina (The Silent City) and Valletta the capital. The nearby St. Paul's Hotel has entertainment on most nights which is quite loud but has a real holiday feel to it which finishes at 11.30 every night and we went there on the way home on a few evenings. I have never laughed so much at the cheesy entertainment and the funny quirky ways of the Maltese. (See 'Fiona the Maltese drag queen'!) If you don't expect to spend lots of time in the hotel and just look at it as a pleasant place to sleep and explore the island and it's people you will not be disappointed.
