Good Points

Close enough to walk to capital Fira; but away from all the tourist hubbub
A small village with all you need if you haven't the energy to get to Fira
Spectacular views
Bus stop at the village square takes you to Fira or up towards Imerovigli /Oia
Good restaurants
Superb accommodation.

Bad Points

One of the bars charged Fira prices but overall prices were reasonable

General Comments

Sun Rocks is truly a world apart. Tastefully designed, it is built down the side of the caldera rim overlooking Santorini bay. It offers a personal, friendly and professional service; all in all you experience all the excellence that a small, luxury hotel can provide.
Booked Sun Rocks over the Internet. Found their booking service to be responsive and clear.
We stayed in one of their VIP Suites and were fortunate enough to have one of the bigger suites with a large terrace. However, if you are interested in their VIP Suites, be sure to ask about the suite, its size, facilities and perks. We had a phone/fax, mini bar stocked free of charge everyday, personal sun loungers and our own terrace furniture.
Because most of Firostephani, like all villages along the caldera rim, is built on the rim itself, the accommodation is steep! Long winding steps take you around the hotel itself. The rooms are built into the rim, so the effect is cubist-like architecture painted in typical Greek whites and blues. If you don't fancy the steps down to the bar, call room service, they'll carry your meals and drinks up to your terrace or your room.

Two able bodied staff are at hand to meet you from your airport transfer and carry your bags to your room. Anything the hotel can do to make your stay relaxing is done.
We sat back, relaxed and drank in the atmosphere. It's a quiet spot which will suit those seeking 'an away from it all' vacation. For those moments when you want a bit more 'getting down', there is always Fira.
