This machine was always picky about disks despite its claims to the contrary. One by one DVD brands would cease to work until eventually, I found that Sony DVD+R disks were the only type I could use. Now these are also failing (I have more than £100 worth of failed disks in a drawer now), which means it can't accurately be described as a DVD recorder at all. I am now seriously considering buying a cheap DVD recorder to rescue stuff I'd recorded onto the Liteon's hard disk, as I now have no other way of saving it to disk. Support is not helpful - they simply direct you to downloads on their website that don't have any effect. Don't buy this unit.
