General Comments

This is the 6th GTi I have owned, and the second mark 3 16v (the first had an unwanted encounter with a Vauxhall Omega whilst parked!).

I love these cars, the design is classic, they look smart from all angles, even 8 years on, handling is decent, although it can be twitchy in the wet (despite 17's with yokohamas!), and performance is more than decent, if not mind blowing.

It never breaks down and never misses a beat, no matter what, my only gripe is the drivers window, which across 6 GTi's, always seems to die on me!

It's built like a Roman though, the doors clunk, the windows(when grafting!) fly up and down, and as mentioned, look mint (mine's dragon green with 17" Santa Monicas, looks mint!).

I had mine chipped, put a k57i on and had a Magnex exhaust put on, and it made a difference, it don't sound as good as a vr6, but it'll have a cracking go at beating one in a straight line!

Not bad on petrol, well planned out inside, you don't have to reach for anything, it's a cracking car, and you can buy a really good one for nothing nowadays!
