Good Points

Very easy to use, once I varied the ingredients to get the results right, made excellent 2lb loaves everyday for 1-2 years. Found spare tins and dough hooks at reasonable price on espares.com. Very easy to programme and it has a window on top so you can see how things are going. Also, delay function means you can put the ingredients one evening and set it to finish when you get up in the morning.

Bad Points

Had to adjust ingredients slightly to get good results (eventually found that using about 20ml less water than advised by manufacturer's instructions made everything OK). After 1 or 2 years of daily use, bearing/spindle in bottom of bread tin failed. Try to ensure you remove loaf withing 15-30 min. of baking finishing (otherwise it get soggy).

General Comments

Although the machine broke after I had owned it for 3 years, I cannot really complain. Within this period I used it for continuous periods of 6 months, 6 months and then 2 months. Considering it is designed for domestic use and cost less that £40, I thought this was reasonably good value. Eventually, the spindle at the base of the bread tin seized. I quite easily found a replacement tin on espares.com for about £18 inc. delivery. With the replacement, I am looking forward to another few years of yummy loaves. Would recommend this product if you want a cheap breadmaker that works (especially if you just need it for occasional use). Only real complaint was that I had to vary the ingredients slightly to get good results (bread either collapsed or rose so much it stuck to top window. I have not used other breadmakers but guess this is a common problem? I suppose different brands of flours, yeast etc. and different kinds of water can have an effect on baking? Despite many programmes available and recipes supplied with instructions, I have only ever used it for basic loaves, French loaves and raisin bread (both white & brown).
