Good Points

Arrived on time...Seemed friendly.


Bad Points

We stressed from the moment the salesman walked in we were not going to sign anything that night, and we had a cringing experience from a salesman a few years ago.
He explained I give 2 prices; one fixed for 12 months, and another if you have the job done A.S.A.P, and the price he gives is the final price and he won't go down...one price, and if we don't like it, he would leave...Yeah sure!!!!
After 1 hour and 45 minutes he gave us a price of £4,600 for 6 windows, and he asked what I thought of that price, - we said no - then another price of £2.900 - we said no. After a few sale offers and 2 calls to his 'boss' we arrived at £2.400, as he had a 'cancellation date' and could do it at trade price to keep the fitters busy - we said "no, we want 24 hours to think about it". He asked us to sign the paperwork now as he was not coming back to this area (Chesterfield), and to pay the £60.00 with the option to cancel if we changed our mind - we said "no". He then made the call to his boss to say he was leaving and was not able to complete a sale that night. I told him I would go ahead for £2,000, and he said there was no way he could go that low, so he finally left (after our friends arrived). 5 minutes after leaving, his boss phoned us explaining he could now do it for £2,000 if we signed tonight, and as the salesman was still in the area he could come straight back to complete the sale, but if we didn't sign tonight then the £2,000 price would not stand...talk about high pressure sales. The same guy then rang back the next day, and asked if we had made a decision. We told them we were still going to get another quote to compare prices. He said 'fair enough', and put down the phone.


General Comments

The salesman from Safestyle UK came across nice and friendly, but that's his job. Never take the first, second, third or fourth price they give, as every quote is flexible.

The B.O.G.O.F (buy one get one free) offers are all sales pitch, along with the 55% free offers and the 5% discount for letting them take pictures of your windows, the internet discount offer....the call to the boss - the cancellation slot...They are all part of the sales techniques. EVERY ONE OF THESE SALES TECHNIQUES WAS OFFERED TO ME THAT NIGHT...WOW, I MUST BE SPECIAL!!

Why can't they just give people one fair price?
