General Comments

Got a quote from Endsleigh Car Insurance which was too good to be true. I'm a 21 year old male driver, with 1 years NCB and a new used 1600cc ford focus hatchback.

I was originally quoted £705. Brilliant I thought but when I received the cover note the car was down as a 1400cc. This is despite me inputting my car registration number on the website, which uses the dvla database to confirm information about cars. I rang up customer services to let them know there was an error and to my surprise they tried to charge me another £90 for their mistake.

I immediately cancelled the policy, if they were this incompetent at the beginning stages, I dread to think what they would be like during a claim. When I checked my credit card bill a week later I realised that they hadn't credited my money back. Back on the phone I was and to my amazement they hadn't the policy, despite my specific instructions.

So I asked them to cancel the policy, again. Another week passed and no money, so back on the phone to their call centre staff. I was told that their was a backlog of cancellations (are they really surprised?) and that it might take another 2 weeks before I receive my full refund. I'm waiting for my money with bated breath.
