Very helpful and friendly staff, nearly all spoke English or French in this hotel. Best accommodations in the area, so if you are staying in Eforie Nord, this is the hotel for you. The pool area is top notch, clean, and well regulated. They have a spa on premises that offers any treatment one could wish for. The rooms are clean but somewhat spartan.
The food is rather coarse and a bit on the expensive side. The wait staff never seemed to change table cloths, so when sitting down to dine, expect spilled food stains at your place setting. The beaches in the area are absolutely filthy, with rubbish and cigarette butts everywhere (stay at the pool). Stray dogs are also to be found everywhere. The spa treatments were quite pricey, more than what I pay for in the US.
If you are staying on the Black Sea in Romania, the Hotel Europa in Eforie Nord is the best choice in a rather dismal area. The room rates we negotiated for were 89 Euros per night. Overall I would not recommend staying at the beach in Romania; the beaches are absolutely filthy. But the Hotel Europa in Eforie Nord is quite a nice place. The restaurants in the area are hit or miss, but we found several that were excellent. Overall I think my time would have been better spent in Bulgaria or the Ukraine.
