General Comments
The Wedding Planner is comprehensive yet simple to use, and covers everything in a down to earth fashion. Each photo in the book carries Swinson's own annotation explaining why she included the photo as an example. The book has an up to date directory at the back for everything from cakes to favors to dresses. In fact I bought my wedding dress from a supplier listed in the book! It has lots of handy hints, as well as the traditional and modern day wedding etiquette.
Unlike a lot of these kinds of books, it also has a section on honeymooning. There are lots of pages for entering personal notes in each chapter... mine is literally jam packed with pasted in pictures of cakes and dresses and lots of "Dear Diary..." type rantings! With a ring binder spine, it's incredibly flexible and expands as you fill it up. It has a hard cover, which helps keep it from getting "dog eared" and holds together nicely with an elasticized binder.
Covering everything from dress styles to families getting together before the big day, to wording of invitations and an essential guest list record, this book is lovely, practical and succinct. A must read for anyone planning a wedding and a beautiful keepsake to boot.
