Can provide something to fill up your time.
Addictiveness, over paranoia about rules etc, annoying members, games are boring and hard, must i go on?
I do not like neopets at all. when i joined i didn't go back for a few days, and the first thing i did was go to the games. i played a couple and they are rubbish.
Most people just play them, sometimes obsessively, just to win np. At the end of the day, when you've wasted 14 hrs playing Meerca chase, mootix drop and bilge dice just to earn 10k in np, what have you achieved? Virtual money, so you can buy a virtual paintbrush, so you can change the colour of your virtual pet. wow. great. That'll help your future.
I also went on to the boards. You can have the most idle dreary conversations on neopets. there are the posers.
finally there are the rules. Everyone hates them, they thoroughly ruin the neo experience. You can't say certain seemingly appropriate words, you can't chat about anything that isn't to do with neopets, you can't tell jokes, you can't have fun full stop.
That's pretty much why i would recommend you to stay away from neopets.
